More Movabletype Woes
Everyday I get a new comment, always something nice and ALWAYS a link to increasing my penis size, child porn, and Jennifer’s first webcam experience.
Like most, I delete them. However, due to my previous Movabletype error, I am unable to rebuild these entries.
I’m thinking I might have to do a reinstall of MT.

Strange that you get that error…
After you reinstall, you might want to install MT-Blacklist, which helps control the comment spam. See http://www.jayallen.org/comment_spam/ for details.
If you are on a Unix server and have access to cron and php, you can schedule automatic updates of the MT-Blacklist blacklist using MT-Blacklist Updater. See http://blog.codefront.net/scripts/blacklistupdater/ for details.

Thanks for the Blacklist suggestion. I’ll implement that as well when I reinstall.

I have just installed Wordpress and moved it to my other server where I can run PHP and MySQL. It rocks, and my installation took about five minutes, the importing of my old MT blog another ten. I mean fast! You mat want to look it over, what with MT’s new licensing gimmick. They want to charge us to use MT 3.0, and Wordpress is open source, GPL, and free. They plan to stay that way, too.
The new site is at http://www.tampascifi.us/wordpress until the domain forwarding catches up with me.
Give it a try.

Thanks for the tip Dave. I checked out the page, it looks promising. I just finished reinstalling movabletype on my new server this weekend. But I like what I see in WordPress. I think I might convert.
What a bunch of crap with MT 3.0.
