Finally, I am free from all the do-it-yourself-home-repair. Well, for this afternoon at least. We got so much accomplished in such little time last week. I’m truly amazed at my Bob Villa skills. We still have a bunch of plans for other things to do; however, we’re taking a well deserved break.
I have added two new sites to my favorites that I’ve yet to give proper mention to, The OK Android, run by Dylan and Sam who update about as much as me :-P, and Rate My Tattoo, sponsored by Brad at Boozebar.
I thought I’d mention that if by chance I’m missing in action again, I thought I’d warn you that we have a brief (borrowed) new edition to the household: A Playstation 2. (My little reward for doing computer repair house calls) I’m trying to make her feel welcome by spending more time with her while she’s in my possession.
Wheew. I think I’m finally recovered from my birthday. I thought I’d clue everyone in on my fantastic weekend. It started off with a special birthday phone call from Benny which started off things on a great note.
I was completely spoiled rotten this year. Danielle surprised me with a 27″ TV and assorted DVD’s to go with my DVD player me mum gave me as well. We then went movie shopping and all that good stuff.
Leighann and Kim were overly kind enough to have a shindig for me at their pad. Where I was showered with a plethora of Jello shots, seventy-two extra potent Jello shots to be exact. Which later was twice celebrated when they put 23 candles in 23 shots! <3 Thanks Guys! <3 Which was followed with yummy Bass and some sweet rum from Deanna!
The whole gang was there and I had such a blast. Even Isaiah was there. The best birthday ever. Thanks to everyone for EVERYTHING.
We took some pictures and all that good stuff, of course, I’ll have to develop them and then scan them. Chances of that happening? Very slim. heh. Ah, I love my friends. ![]()
P.S. I decline to comment on the Bucs recent victory. Although, it does bring fun times and BBQ.
Hope everyone had a happy/merry…December. My New Years resolution is to post more?
Becoming a vegetarian has been one of the smoothest transitions in my life. Surprisingly, since I was notorious for turning vegetarians into carnivores. If it weren’t for Gardenburger, Morningstar, and Boca, I’d still be sterilizing bacteria laden meat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You wouldn’t believe the types of meatless meat-like foods these companies produce. From riblets to spicy polish sausage. It’s unreal and outrageously tasty.
Now Thanksgiving is on the horizon. Yippy effing skippy. I’m not a holiday person. I hate holidays. All holidays except for Halloween, which I’m not even sure if it’s classified as a holiday, but whatever. Thanksgiving is just a “special” day for our family where once a year we all eat in the same room. [I'll groan more about Thanksgiving itself in days to come heh.]
This Thanksgiving I’m making a Tofurkey. This is a stuffed tofu roast. It even comes complete with Wishstixs made of Tofurkey jurky. I’ve never had this before but it looks delectable. You can also get Drumettes and “Giblet” gravy, which I believe we shall be trying as well. The Tofurkey only costs around $20.00 dollars. This sucker is supposed to serve 4 people, I’m assuming this is the equivalent of one Jessica and one Danielle, however, if someone else would like to come try our Tofurkey, we can try to spare a slice or two.
Despite my obvious neglect of this site, a whole lot of nothing overly great has been going on. It all started with the arrival of our cd burner [and an abundance of blank media
]. Then our kitty, JJ, got increasingly ill and things have been a bit hectic [emotionally draining, even]. We’re still awaiting test results from JJ’s lab analysis. They drained two liters of fluid from his body cavity. This, of course, was after a good two week search for a decent, compassionate vet. The previous “vets” we did see only offered euthanasia as a solution?! Um…I don’t think so. Luckily, we came across the Cat Clinic with wonderful Dr. Weber. He is currently helping us with symptomatic supportive care for JJ. We have him on diuretics and antibiotics as of right now. However, the closer we come to finding an accurate diagnosis the more things look not-so-good. All signs seem to be pointing to FIP. Hopefully things will take a turn for the good in the coming weeks. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who’s been concerned and everything.
I think I just fell into the stereotype of women with weblogs that only write about their cats?
Aside from that, I think I’ve been missing out on a few changes on here. Craig gave Compulsive.org a nice facelift. Benny is turning into a bit of a star with his MakeBenDrink.com venture. Getting booked for parties and all! And well, is there really anything else worth reading these days? Yeah! Angry White Girl always puts me in the best of moods.
I just wanted to add a little update about what’s been going on over here in Florida. I think I shall go catch up on some current events and what not and perhaps dish out a few more posts to make up for my disappearance.
Update:We just talked to the vet and JJ’s fluid analysis came back negative for FIP. Now we have to get blood work and x-rays done to further narrow things down. I’m just glad that it’s not FIP like all those bastard vets kept telling me when I said he didn’t! So there! You jackholes!
PS - If you live in Tampa, FL…never take your pets to Hillsborough Animal Hospital and VetCare. EVER.
I think I might be slowly losing interest in this site. Perhaps I should hire a ghostwriter for times when I’m too lazy to read, type, and click publish. Eh, maybe tomorrow.
