I don’t think I have enough time to read all of the crazy happenings in the news lately but I’ve been trying. Needless to say, there’s a lot of interesting things to be read. Observe:
It looks as if most of the so-called evidence Colin Powell presented at the U.N. was plagiarized from a graduate student paper — a paper published three years ago and based upon 12-year-old reports from Kuwait. Graduate student, Ibrahim al-Marashi, is very flattered.
After the US pleaded their case against Iraq, not everyone bought it. I suppose some college kid’s thesis of 12-year-old reports just aren’t convincing enough. Attention shifts to France and Germany who oppose US policies on Iraq. Of course, the US can’t let that go. So what does a vengeful mega-super power like the US government do? Members of Congress are suggesting the United States impose trade sanctions on France [banning French water & wine] and withdraw U.S. troops from Germany to retaliate.
Jump to Korea where they’re embarking on a Nuclear Crisis. While UN inspectors are tied up in Iraq, North Korea’s having a blast with their long range nuclear missiles that can reach the western US. Nothing to be concerned about though. Merchants and restaurants have plastered signs in their windows to let us know, Korea still hearts America! But what they really love is US soldiers sodomizing their soldiers and running over little girls with tanks.
If you’re still concerned about North Korea’s silly nuclear missiles and what not, have no fear, Japan’s ready to wage war. Let me throw in a point of interest from that article: A senior official in Pyongyang, Ri Kwang-hyok, told the AFP news agency that North Korea was capable of attacking “all military personnel and all military commands of the United States in the world”. Do I detect jealousy? I guess they’re still wondering what they have to do to attract the US military’s attention. Happy reading.

“It may seem unreasonable, unfair and downright mean-spirited to compare the Bush administration to the minions of Sauron, the granddaddy of evil in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.”
Nah! Check out the similarities yourself.

Check out this old video showing the effects of the British Army being tested on acid. Interesting, especially when the soldier decides to throw down his weapon to climb a tree and feed the birds.

I’ve been working on a new layout, which rather explains my lack of updating. Okay- that’s just a cheap excuse but it’s partially true. I suppose I’ll have the new layout finished eventually.
I’m currently listening to Nadia’s kickass radio show. Fun filled two hours of nonstop musical bliss. You must listen every Wednesday 2PM-4PM EST. That is a direct order.
For you 9/11 enthusiasts, I was emailed a link to 911Timeline.net which gives extensive minute-by-minute accounts from September 11. It’s quite a lengthy read but has some good links and what not.
I was looking up information for the upcoming Pearl Jam album (okay- I was looking for a pre-release…so shoot me) and happened upon an interesting article about pre-release albums on the internet. Apparently, they are shipping the promo CDs to reviewers already glued into walkmans. Amongst the albums apart of this are the new Pearl Jam and Tori Amos CDs. Who needs the RIAA when you have super glue!

On July 9 of this year the US military accidentally bombed a wedding that was taking place in Afghanistan. Forty-eight civilians were killed-mostly women and children - and another 117 were injured.
I posted about this article back in July. The air strike was videotaped but the US wouldn’t say what could be seen on the video. Now they are releasing a statement about the incident in which they are justifying the attack on the wedding.
The report says the Afghans are to blame and that the military “acted accordingly”. The report also goes on the claim that reconnaissance patrols heard gunfire and explosions at all hours of the day and night, and that the AC-130 came under fire itself. However, ‘despite the report’s claims that heavy weapons had been fired at the US aircraft in the days before the raid, the American investigators found no evidence of anti-aircraft weapons at the bombed sites.’
Even more interesting is the US report on the casualties. The report says that the US investigation could only confirm 34 dead and about 50 wounded and according to the Afghan Government 48 civilians - mostly women and children - were killed and 117 injured. But who’s counting anyway, right? None of the major networks are reporting civilian deaths in Afghanistan anyway. They consider talking about civilian deaths contributing to the “propaganda war”. Who wants to hear about all the “accidental killings” and all the accidental slaughtering of children and their mothers anyway? Nobody wants to hear about military blunders and, dare I say, possible war crimes. They want to hear about all the deaths of terrorists and big, bad evildoers. The US has been bombing Afghanistan since October and still haven’t found Osama bin Laden. Does Afghanistan even exist anymore? Is that why they want to attack Iraq because they already blew Afghanistan off the face of the earth?
Check out these images of the most effective War on Terrorism. Afghanistan must be overjoyed with the US for helping rid their country of all these terrorists. What a total success! Go troops! ( I wonder if I’ll get flamed for this one)

I thought the “War on Terrorism” was a war against independent militia groups and individuals, not entire nations. Why doesn’t the US government address the problems that give rise to terrorist attacks against the US instead of writing off terrorist attacks as an act of hatred for our freedoms? Bush’s reasons for the attacks on September 11 were nothing more than a public display of ignorance. Mainstream media will not express the events that have lead to resentment for our government, such as sanctions and the US military bases that occupy the backyards of so many nations.
Instead of working to reintroduce UN inspectors to disarm Iraq and lift sanctions, the administration uses the UN inspections to generate another war. Starting a war in every nation for vague and almost nonexistent reasons will only create more animosity and result in future attacks against the country.
Saddam Hussein doesn’t want a war with the US and said, “We want a comprehensive solution that leads to the lifting of the sanctions according to the Security Council resolutions.” Saddam further went on to add, “As they (resolutions) are applied to us, they must be applied to them as there are reciprocal commitments,” Saddam said. “Iraq has implemented all its commitments but they (the United Nations) have not implemented their commitments.” Read the full article.
This “War on Terrorism” is constantly shifting its goals and objectives. The military action being planned against Iraq is being pursued as part of the war on Terrorism; however, the Bush regime has failed to provide evidence that Iraq is even supporting or harboring terrorists. The idea that the majority of the country is so war hungry that they will back any assault against whomever Bush deems evil, is an atrocity to everything this country was founded upon.

Just a little shout out to the Department of Defense for visiting the site!

My little one visit is nothing compared to the visits they give RaiseTheFist.com. They get over 100 hits a day from the U.S Department of Defense. The FBI, police department, NSA (and who else) continuesly moniter the site on a daily basis. That’s not all. Here’s an excerpt from the page:
“LOS ANGELES, JAN 23 2002 - Heavily armed with high-powered machine guns, shot guns, and hand guns, the FBI, Secret Service, and Los Angeles Police Department sorounded the founder of raisethefist.com in his house. The founder was currently asleep, woken up by a relative who said fbi, police and undercover’s were currently up and down all of the streets, with they’re eyes focused on the premises. Raisethefist.com founder aproached the door were 2 FBI agents demanded that he step outside. Within seconds a swarm of FBI raided the house with automatic weapons and shot guns. Additional police and fbi also stayed on the front lawn, around the house with a door baracade and additional weapons. “armed and ready”.
FBI and secret service entered the house, seizing all servers and political liturature. Raisethefist.com was currently being ran within the founders room of the house, over a computer network. The room was literarly ransacked, and all equipment, disks, cd’s .. etc. were boxed up, loaded into a truck and seized until further notice. ” Read the whole article from Raisethefist.com.
This is the Patriot Act being enforced. Although, there’s a vast difference between this site and that one, under the Patriot Act anybody can be declared a terrorist. Even you soapbox preachers out there. Eventually there will be no difference between being an activist and a terrorist. I just thought it was interesting that my pathetic little page was visited by some military personnel. Woo-Hoo for cheap thrills! Hey, it beats the daily visits from the Acno’s Energizer cult.

Postal Service Won’t Join TIPS Program - “The Postal Service has decided not to take part in a government program touted as a tip service for authorities concerned with terrorism, but which is being assailed as a scheme to cast ordinary Americans as “peeping Toms.” This actually surprises me.

US planning to recruit one in 24 Americans as citizen spies - “Highlighting the scope of the surveillance network, TIPS volunteers are being recruited primarily from among those whose work provides access to homes, businesses or transport systems. Letter carriers, utility employees, truck drivers and train conductors are among those named as targeted recruits.”
‘The Patriot Act already provides for a person’s home to be searched without that person being informed that a search was ever performed, or of any surveillance devices that were implanted. ‘ Not only in terrorism cases, but in all cases—the so-called “sneak and peek” authority. Access to any of your records, even library and internet activity.
Wow! Isn’t that cool! This war on terrorism is so bad ass! I’m joining the Citizen Corps right now! Operation Enduring Freedom in the Hizouse! Who wouldn’t want to play nationwide I-Spy?! It’s the perfect revenge for anyone you dislike. “What?! You slept with my girlfriend?! OH YEH, WELL I’M CALLING THE CITIZEN CORPS AND SENDING YOUR ASS TO A CONCENTRATION CAMP IN GUANTANAMO BAY, YOU TERRORIST!”
Everyone should join and report George W. Bush as being an international terrorist.
