I Love the Internets.com is a weblog mostly about technology, personal interests, and various noteworthy items I've found pilfering through the vast internets.

Computer Go Boom

If I can manage to stop laughing from Bushy’s speech long enough to type an entry, I will enlighten you with a word of advice:

Ferrets, Water, and Laptops DON’T MIX!

To briefly summarize, I’ve been unable to update recently because my laptop got fried when my ferret, Lucy, decided to go mini-godzilla mode and scale to the top of my desk and thrust my glass of water onto my laptop. Although, this isn’t the first ferret-drink-laptop incident, this is the first catastrophic one and the laptop was unable to be recovered.

On top of that disastrous episode, I made a huge blunder myself, instead of backing up last week, I planned to do it this week, which, never happened. Everything is gone and I’ve been working on recovering a lot of important date and what not.

I ended up getting a replacement desktop (praise Jesus, A DESKTOP! FINALLY!). Although it was well needed, the circumstances are still quite unpleasant. Once I’m finished breaking in the new computer, I’ll be updating very regulary again. Don’t worry, it’ll only be a day or two, at the VERY most. Ah, hell, posting will resume tomorrow.

One more thing, if you’ve recently e-mailed me in the past week and I haven’t replied, all e-mails went bye-bye too along with everyone’s e-mail address. So, if you want, e-mail me so I can re-add you to my address book, you guys know who you are.

Movabletype Internal Server Error

Bah! I went to rebuild my site and out of the blue I’m receiving ‘500 Internal Server Error: Premature end of script headers: /mt.cgi’

Anyone familiar with this issue and have any suggestions? I haven’t touched any MT files since I upgraded and this just happened all of a sudden.

Done

Well, I’m done for now at least. I spent way too much time re-finishing the layout. After trying to fine tune all the spaghetti code, I changed my mind and wanted to change the design all together. Now I’m going cross-eyed from staring at the computer for so long, so content will ensue later.

A work in progress

I was anticipating finishing this site for the new year. It’s partially there. Hopefully, within the week I can finish some tweaking of the page. I got a digital camera for xmas, so I’ve been preoccupied. Not that this site reels in many visitors any more, but since I have the space, I might as well use it.

Intermission

This is site will be going on hiatus for a while. Well, maybe a long while. This month has been a busy month and the next few weeks will be twice as busy. We’re in the process of moving and between packing and finding a place to live, I just don’t have much time to update any more. However, it might not be a temporary hiatus, my hosting and domain expire the first week of May and I’m not sure what my plans are as far as the site goes. I’m thinking of revamping, new domain, new content blah, blah, blah or moving on to something else, whichever. I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for almost 2 years now. Anyway, I’ll keep you updated on what’s next when I get some more time. If anyone has any ideas for cheap hosting etc. feel free to let me know.

Changes…

I’ve been thinking of redesigning the site again. Although, it’s just a thought. I also thought of just pulling up one of the older designs but what would be the point. The reason they are older designs is because they’re ass ugly. Here’s a half-ass, sloppy collection of Who Needs Oxygen’s former selves in order. I’m thinking of reverting back to the last design. I kinda miss my oxygen guy. [click to enlarge photos]

We interrupt our regular scheduled programming…

This site has been on a temporary hiatus. I shall return posting …soon.

Nothing to see here

What? Were you really expecting some sort of groundbreaking new layout? HAH! Once I get this (sorry excuse for a) layout squared away, I’ll resume daily posting again.

I’m slacking…

It’s getting dusty around here.

An update?

I’ve been working on a new layout, which rather explains my lack of updating. Okay- that’s just a cheap excuse but it’s partially true. I suppose I’ll have the new layout finished eventually.

I’m currently listening to Nadia’s kickass radio show. Fun filled two hours of nonstop musical bliss. You must listen every Wednesday 2PM-4PM EST. That is a direct order.

For you 9/11 enthusiasts, I was emailed a link to 911Timeline.net which gives extensive minute-by-minute accounts from September 11. It’s quite a lengthy read but has some good links and what not.

I was looking up information for the upcoming Pearl Jam album (okay- I was looking for a pre-release…so shoot me) and happened upon an interesting article about pre-release albums on the internet. Apparently, they are shipping the promo CDs to reviewers already glued into walkmans. Amongst the albums apart of this are the new Pearl Jam and Tori Amos CDs. Who needs the RIAA when you have super glue!
