I Love the Internets.com

I Love the Internets.com is a weblog mostly about technology, personal interests, and various noteworthy items I've found pilfering through the vast internets.

Blogathon

Today is the 24-Hour Blogathon and I’ve been peeking in periodically on a few bloggers that are participating. Unfortunately, yours truly is not participating in this event. Sadly enough, I couldn’t find three people to sponsor me, not even at the bare minimum of one dollar apiece. Pathetic, eh? (b-o-o-h-o-o) So far, the Blogathon has 212 participants with 2143 sponsors, donating a total of $53027.17 to selected charities.

Here are a few of the sites that I have been perusing:

Wannabegirl.org - Firda is putting up CSS layouts and haikus every half hour. She is an excellent web designer; I love checking out her work.

8 Bit Joystick - I just like reading this guys page. I find him very entertaining. I also envy his domain name. ;-)
Internet Gossip - Dr. T received a $500.00 donation to shave his head on his web cam and another $35 to also shave his beard. He says he will not shave anything else. However, he will slander anyone of your choice for a donation as well.

Star-Shine.net - Kerri is reviewing the best and the worst of the 90’s.

There are many excellent pages to check out, too many to list here.

Blogathon

Blogathon 2002 - The idea is to post in your weblog every 30 minutes for 24 hours. You need three sponsors. Whatever the sponsors donate to you gets sent to your charity of choice. I’ve never participated before and Who Needs Oxygen isn’t a l33t weblog either. Anybody out there participating? I’m curious about it.

Cherry Bomber - Cherry fight! The flashing banner ads are highly irritating though.

Delirium - Cool shooter game with different weapons to choose from. Shoot yourself silly.

In other news: I need to run my own comments script so I can get an e-mail notification of comments that are posted. I’m thinking of taking the quizzes down again, I’m assuming the remote loading of the pictures is slowing the site down. It’s taking FOREVER to load the page. Anywho, we’re going out tonight. Danielle says that there are things to do offline. Holy Shit!

Weblogs not just for geeks

Here are some of the most “talked about celebrity weblogs” I have seen; Rupaul,
William Shatner, and Wil Wheaton.
This is an excerpt from an article about celebrity weblogs from FOXnews: “Carey’s, www.mariahcarey.com, became infamous when she posted incomprehensible rants just before being hospitalized for exhaustion last year. The entries created a publicity migraine for the singer/actress and made many speculate about whether she was suffering from drug addiction.”

I checked out Mariah Carey’s site but couldn’t find a trace of the weblog. I thought it would be quite amusing. Some others are Moby, Shirly Manson (I’m not sure if Shirly Manson’s is kept current any more), and here’s my favorite Fred Durst! Comes complete with grammatical errors, misspellings galore, and even confessions of “knocking up some broads”. Oh Joy! </sarcasm>
